They are direct replacements for the standard #8454 shafts. The TiN coating is the upgrade here. That hard gold colored surface is far harder than bare steel, so it resists the scoring and pitting that eventually chews up a shock shaft and a scored shaft is what tears x rings and starts oil leaks. It also runs with
